I ran across this young porcupine while out for a walk. At first he ran from me in his awkward run and then he stopped and looked at me. I stood still and he turned and began to run to me. At first I was delighted but when he got about 2 feet from me I snapped this photo and said "stop". My voice scared him and he took off again. I think he is a youngster just out on his own and bit overwhelmed with the world. His quills aren't up much in this photo but you can see the smaller ones on his tail. I wasn't afraid of him but a bit nervous about him brushing up against me even if by accident.
