It wasn’t easy being one of the tallest girls in the class in late elementary school. Add to it being super skinny with a bad perm, and you’ve got the ingredients for one awkward kid. Twenty-some years later, I’m relieved to have grown into my height and, while I’m still thin, I no longer resemble a beanpole. I’m once again hopelessly flat as a board, but at least now I can say it’s due to nourishing my two boys when they were babies—nothing a few thousand dollars and a plastic surgeon won’t be able to change someday. Just kidding (kind of).
