This started out as a 8x8 piece of white bazzill. I used TH peeled paint, fired brick, walnut stain, and tattered rose. I cut out a 6in circle and used my ek corner rounder to scallop the edges of the outside and inside of the circle and used it as a masking technique and used the inside piece that I cut out when making the circle, scalloped it as well for the smaller circles. The journaling is also from a white piece of cardstock that I inked to get the color and look I wanted. The title is hand cut of my handwriting. (this was one of my Dad's favorite songs!) The hinges are Making Memories and the paper is bazzill. I used my zig pens to the quote in around the circle. I cropped the picture to just focus on her. This picture is very difficult for me to look at, that's why I have avoided doing this lo.

The Journaling reads:

September 25, 2002 changed our life forever. I thought when you were diagnosed with a VSD that it was the hardest thing I had gone through. In august Dr Smith performed a heart cath and found that open heart surgery was no longer avoidable. We only had 1 month to prepare & I ended up with a kidney stone that caused minor surgery the week before, there was no doubt I was stressed. Surgery was bright and early that morning & you knew something was happening to only be 1 ½. Aunt Stacey took us to the hospital & you were scared to death to let anyone in scrubs near you. When the anesthesiologist came in to start preparations you were screaming & as soon as he shot the morphine mist up your nose you instantly reached out to him & said “HEY!” It was hilarious & as I handed you over I was silently a nervous wreck. Aunt Emily, Nana, Aunt Amanda, Aunt Tiffany, Pastor Benny, Uncle Franklin, & Aunt Tootie were all there for support as I sat quietly not able to talk or relax. Surgery was scheduled to be 4 hours & only ended up being successfully 2 hours. Dr Watts did a great job communicating the details & supporting us. You were in recovery for 24 hours & 3 of us could only visit 20 min every 2 hours & it was hard and heart breaking watching how helpless you were. I think the hardest thing was not being able to protect you from this. Dr Watts suggested I bring video's to help entertain you, and man did you wear out the Shirley Temple sing along video. As soon as it ended you would point for it to play again. I know everyone in hearing distance couldn't wait for you to go to the children's hospital. You were only there for 24 hours. This picture was taken a day later right before you were released. This is the only picture I took of this time for us to remember. Your recovery was six weeks and finally this year, 6 years later you have now been released for 6 years. You will always have the scare but you have proven to be the strongest, happiest little girl! It hard to believe now that your 7, that we went through this. You make me so proud and I love you with all of my heart and I can't wait to watch you grow into a beautiful woman. Just the 2 of us, we can make it! Love, Mommy

The quote around the circle is from the book, I love you forever and it says:
“ I Love You Forever, I'll Love You For Always, As Long As I'm Living My Baby You'll Be.”
