One for the WWII album. This one incorporates an article about Daddy coming home from the War. He hadn't yet seen my older sis Carolyn who was born October 1943 and here it was nearly June of 1944. The article talks about his heroism; the raid on the bridge in Ponte Corvo, Italy and how one engine of his B25 became disabled. He stayed at the controls, held the ship in formation & dropped the bombs, all the while with a piece of flak in his eye. He landed the plane safely in Allied territory with all crew safe. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Distinquished Flying Cross.
