Journaling: Our parish / Justin's school has only one fund raiser every year, Field of Dreams. A hug tent is erected in the field in front of the parish. Over 500 people attend. It is a night of dinner, dancing silent and live auctions. Each grade does an art project and many impressive items are donated. This year some of the main auction items included: an autographed Keith Richards guitar, an autographed Michael Jordan Basketball, A autographed photo of the Miracle Olympic US Hockey Team, tickets to all the Chicago sporting events, vacations, I-pods, principle of the day, you name it.
We reserved our table with the Ryan's, Krupp's, and Smith's. We did well with they auctions. We won Justin soccer camp, golf lessons, and a gift certificate for Lou Malnati's Pizza. The Ryan's won $1000 in split the pot, and a pirate birthday party package. The Smith's won a ceramics birthday party.
We had such a fun time dancing. We joke that their not going to let our kids go back to school there - okay we weren't that bad.
The Krupp's had visitors in town so they needed to leave early. The rest of us went to Moore after the event. We closed the bar - we really didn't need to go to the bar...
The next day we all got to get up bright and early for our kids T-ball game.
