SHCG: Ok. OK! I freaking bow to your creative genius, grasshopper. I am in total awe of the idea, the execution, the everything. This will be jacked. Oh, yes. It will be mine. I am stunned by its simplicity, yet complexity at exactly the same freaking time! Suggestions. I got nothing. I like Sharon's idea for your title (month). I think that a montage of patterned paper forming the letters in the month would totally complement the layout. As far as the blank calendar dates, I would leave them blank with just the number. It is like the old adage, "You don't recognize the good, without the bad". The empty days make the full days that much more vibrant and important. Just my 2 cents. Don't try to give me back some change, you vixen! Love this with all of my heart!
SHCG: This is a fabulous idea. Each "inchie" is so interesting. An inchie of just a cropped photo might be fun too (even if it's just on the blank squares, the ones without dates"). I really hate to be saying this...but I am not diggin' the background color. It may work better with the addition of your title. And speaking of titles, I am hoping you will be adding the month and year. This is very interesting idea I am going to have to ponder it some more.
PS when visually you have too many blank squares maybe you could just add some text like "RIDESHARE THURSDAY" or American Idol finals or "stepped in poo today".
SHCG: This is an awesome idea!I love that you were able to take my challenge and create something so original! A suggestion for a title would be "A month of my life, May 2008". I love swirlies and think they would look nice in the "white space" and go well with the flow of this idea. I also love how your numbers are different font? in each day although you could probably get away with repeating the same font? a few times each. Brilliant Brenda, cant wait to see the finished product!
SHCG: *gasp* This is so cool. I thinks I might have to copy! For the days that you don't have an inchie, I'd just leave the box blank with the generic number. That way the focus will be on the days that you have an inchie to represent something. For the title, I'd use a cool font and cut it from a solid cs. GREAT IDEA!
SHCG: Brenda this is fabulous. If you have the time and energy I would suggest that you do one of these for every month. What a great way to remember the days and months as they go by. Is it hard to come up with tiny ideas for inchies?
SHCG - OMG I absolutely adore these "event" inchies here, what an excellent visual journal! I think you should edit the 1st line of your description, as this is a response to TWO SHCG BWCs, not just one...way to rock the dual-challenge response! Now, you asked some questions in the LO thread, let me try to address them all: Inchie-less days- I think you can go either way w/ what you put there - keep numbers uniform to unite everything design-wise or go totally random w/ the numbers/colors/other elements for those days, to carry on the ultra-cool hodgepodgey feel you already created. As for the month & white space. hmmm...given the inchies already here, I think I can see the month cut from a lively pp that has multiple vibrant colors on a white background. Maybe even make your own pp from scans of your inchies, then cut "May" out from that. Supercool work so far Brenda, me LOVES zooming in & seeing these tiny slices of your life! :)
So very, very, very cool !I can't wait to see it all done! Now let's break it down:

I gotta go do some inchies now.
This is a work-in-progress for the SHCG BWC#7 which is to scraft about an event for which I do not have pictures for. I actually do have pictures for some of the events. However, I haven't been writing in a journal much lately, and a lot has happened in the past few weeks that I didn't want to forget; so, I decided to make an inchie to symbolize each of those events, and place them on a blank May calendar to serve as a more visual journal. The inspiration that drove this idea comes from Christy's BWC#10 which was to use a phrase from a Dove chocolate wrapper on a lo. I chose, "Take advantage of every free moment you have," and placed it on the first day of the month. KissNcontrol's Daily Cards and the "Day By Day Calendar Journal" presented in Linda Woods & Karen Dinino's book, Journal Revolution: Rise Up and Create! are also major inspirations for this project. All inchies are made from scraps and unused pieces from my stash. When this calendar is complete, I will use the Notes section to elaborate on specific events.
