This year we found a very special gift for my 18yo son...he is a small engine mechanic and has a wonderful gift for that trade...it started when he was just a little boy and he had the same love of tools that his dad does....at that time there were tools called 'Cool Tools' and they were just like actual tools only 'smaller'...Mason had almost EVERY tool there was...and would proudly put his tool belt on day after day...even helped his dad fix one of the cars one time thanks to a 'Cool Tool' (it really fit the specific need!)....of course growing up he lost them...well...this year for Christmas he does his usual, I don't want anything' bit....so I thought deep...and looked on Ebay...sure enough there were a few auctions for them! I won one of them....when he opened that gift he cried (hard to get and 18yo boy to cry over a gift! HA!) He brought the tool box with the tools and has it on top of his 'real' tool box at work...it is his prized possession.

I found a picture of him from about the time that he had all the tools (he was around 5 in the picture) along with the picture of him opening the present.

Anyway...the journaling reads: Sometimes children learn about gifts, they are more than something that brings momentary pleasure - they can be something that gives us more....
