Disclaimer: This scanned really dark- sorry!!! :(

Whew! This layout has literally taken me weeks to complete. It started out as "10 Most Unforgettable Moments In My Life," and I had 5 moments from my childhood, and 5 from my adult life. The journaling was waaaaay too long to fit on a page, so I decided to split it up. This is the layout for the moments in my adult life. I personally chose to just do happy moments to reflect on. I highly encourage everyone to do a layout with this theme- it's very refreshing!!! :) I put the "title" of each of the moments on the front of each cover. If you slide the photo turns and lift the cover with the hinges, the hidden journaling is revealed. :)

Thanks for looking! :) Heather

Hidden Journaling (brace yourself!!!):

Scott’s proposal--- Saturday, October 13, 2001, was the day we were officially engaged. The Saturday before, we had gone out “looking” for rings, but ended up buying them. The following Saturday morning, I had to be in Ogden to play for the Weber State Homecoming game. Of course after the game, I hurried back to Logan to be with Scott. I’m so glad that I wrote everything down in my journal the following night: “Sunday, October 14, 2001. Scott and I are officially engaged! It’s all so wonderful! Last night Scott took me up to the place in Mendon where we went on our first date and we first kissed. He told me to find a CD for us to listen to, and while I did that, he just got out of the car and walked away. I didn’t know for sure what he was doing, although I had an idea. I decided to go out there and see what he was up to. It was really windy and really cold. I went over to him and we gave each other a huge hug and just held each other. I leaned up against him and I could not believe how nervous he was! I thought that his heart was beating hard and loud when we first kissed, but that was NOTHING compared to last night. That was when I knew that he was going to do it. He started telling me that I was his best friend, and that he loved me a lot. After a few minutes, he said, ‘There’s something that I need to ask you.’ He then took my hands and he knelt down on one knee. We were like that for what seemed like forever, with tears in both of our eyes. It wasn’t cold anymore, either! When Scott finally spoke again, he was all chocked up. I will never forget the look on his face, the sound of his voice, or the intensity and sincerity in his eyes. He said, ‘Heather, will you spend the rest of forever with me?’ I just started crying and gave him a hug. Then he looked at me and said, “Heather, will you be my wife?” I said yes! Then he took the ring out of his pocket and slipped it on my finger. Oh, I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it all was! When he pulled out the ring, he said, ‘Heather, always remember that diamonds last forever. And like these diamonds, we’re going to last forever. We’ll have our hard times, but we’ll make it. Every time you look at those diamonds, I want you to remember that we’ll last forever.’” I still get teary just thinking about it.

My first publication--- It was the middle of March, 2005, and I’d just gotten home from my classes. I sat down at the table and turned on the laptop, where I found an email from Scrapbook Trends, requesting my “Winnie the Pooh” layout for their vacation idea book. I was ecstatic! I was jumping up and down and so thrilled! I let them know that I would be mailing in the layout, and their response was a request for two more of my layouts for that book!

Finding out I was pregnant with Brian, as well as our parent’s reactions--- We found out the first week in November, 2002. Scott and I were sitting in an institute class when he leaned over and told me that there was something he needed to tell me after class. Later, we got outside and he leaned over and said, “Go get a test.” I looked at him, completely shocked. I did, and I was shaking when I took it. After a few minutes, two lines were showing. I remember repeating, “There’s a line there. There’s a line there.” I was thrilled, but so surprised! We decided to tell our parents by giving them baby bibs that said “I love grandma” and “I love grandpa.” We wanted to give them as gifts for Christmas, but we couldn’t wait. We told them the first week in December. My parents were first. We gave them their “early Christmas present” and their first reaction was laughter. Deep, from the gut laughter. I started crying. When my mom noticed I was crying, she said, “Oh, this isn’t a joke???” I was speechless. After they realized that no, it wasn’t a joke, they were all very happy for us. At Scott’s parent’s house, we gave them the gift at the beginning of dinner. Patty opened it and started crying. Of course I started crying again, and they were also very happy for us. Whew. What an emotional day. Especially for a pregnant woman!

Brian’s birth---The main details that stick out in my mind are as follows: Right around 11 when we were getting ready for bed, I started feeling some pains but didn’t think much of it. They kept coming, so after a few minutes I realized that it was the real thing. Scott and I were so nervous and excited. I remember doing the dishes at 12:30 that night and going into the hospital around 3. My water broke in the hospital, and soon after, I had an epidural. I tried to sleep while the labor progressed, but it was too noisy out in the halls. Around 9:30 the next morning, I started to push. I pushed for 2 hours before Brian finally arrived! I was exhausted. I remember looking at Scott as the nurses were cleaning him off and seeing him cry, so I started to cry too. I held him and wondered what in the world I had gotten myself into. I was amazed that I had carried that little thing inside me for nine months, and that he was my son. What a wonderful opportunity. I loved him from the start.

Brian learning to walk--- On August 13, 2004, it was early afternoon and Scott and I decided to really work with Brian to get him to walk. Brian’s Mickey Mouse was his absolute favorite, so we used that as bate. After just a few tries, Brian headed straight towards Mickey sitting on the couch! It’s nice to know that a stuffed rodent takes place of parents, but nonetheless, Brian had walking down in just a few short hours! He had to keep arms raised above his head in order to keep his balance, and now a year later, he’s running and jumping, and baby steps are a thing of the past.
