This is for the 'Scrap a Scrapper' challenge. The minute I saw this challenge, I knew who I had to scrap. Helen was one of the first people I met on sb.com and I've always admired her. She has a very whimsical and varying style to her scrapbooking and I'm always finding myself inspired by her gallery. Layouts aside, she has become a very dear friend to me. I think we initially started communicating because we are both military wives, but it didn't take long before I feel we became true friends. She's such an inspiration to me.
For this layout, I wanted to incorporate some of Helen's styles along with my own. The colors definetely lean more towards my style... though I'm not even sure that's so true. Helen tends to like circles, so I just had to use some, and she uses several unique ways of matting her pics.. so I tried something different as well... and because her layouts inspired me to buy the Cricut, I used it to make the title letters. Granted, I did grab the QuicKutz first, but then I realized 'hey I have alpha cartridges for the Cricut!' LOL And lastly, being that Helen is the scraps Queen, I used scraps for everything except the background and the circles.
Hopefully Helen likes this layout. I worried every step of the way how she would feel about it!
