Yet more pictures from my vacation. These are our first upon arrival at Glacier National Park. DH took pity on me and let me have a few nights where I didn’t have to sleep on the ground. This night we stayed at the gorgeous and historic Many Glacier Hotel. It has a very European feel to it, built early in the 20th century to resemble a grand hotel in Switzerland. It is pretty much preserved the way it was built. But the best part of all was the setting. Magnificent.

JOURNALING READS: Many Glacier Hotel was built in 1914 and 1915 and has 208 rooms. Its design was modeled after Swiss chalets and the Swiss theme is carried throughout the hotel. The main dining room features the flags of Switzerland's Cantons. Located on Swiftcurrent Lake, the hotel has panoramic views of nearby Grinnell Point and Mt. Henkel. Both of these spots are good locations for spotting mountain goats, bighorn sheep and bears.
