Pretty simple layout for a great picture. The journaling says:
Funny story: One day I was making toast and whenever I make ANYTHING Jethro wants to sit up on the counter to watch. So he was begging to get up, but I told him no because there wasn't any room, what with the toaster adn a plate and teh butter and honey already taking up all the limited counter space. Undaunted he says, "I'll go get my stool," and ran away to find his usual step-up, his plastic legos case--which he couldn't find. However, being the resourceful boy that he is, he hurries back into the kitchen proudly carrying.....a book. "I got this!" he declares, and he plunks it on the ground and steps up all of a 1/4 inch. Haa haa haaa! I laughed so hard.
Outwitting Daddy and Mommy: On a few occasions Jethro has tried to get what he wanted by somewhat-less-than-straightforward means. For example, Jethro and I were in the kitchen and Jethro asked if he could have an apple. I said no. He then said, "You go in the front room now, Mommy." (Hmmm, let me think about that.)
Other times he will ask for something, and if teh answer is no (and after he has asked repeatedly for several minutes and the answer is still no) he will say, "just say 'okay,' mommy, then I can have one." (Indeed).
