I love this photo of my son, but wasn't quite sure how to scrap it. His overalls are Osh Kosh and the price tags that came with them were so cute. So tag from the overalls were the inspiration for the entire page. The slogan for Osh Kosh is, "The Genuine Article" so that's what I used for the title!
Journaling: Genuine is a great word to describe you Trent. You THE genuine article! You are a genuine **. People told me from the minute you were born just how much you look like your dad. Whenever I am around some of your dad’s friends and childhood, neighbors they, without a doubt, tell me how much you look just like him. I always wanted you to have the middle name of **. We didn’t want to name you for sure until after you were born. When your dad was looking at you in the hospital he said, “He’s a little **.” So, we decided to give you your dad’s first name as your middle name. You are a genuine **. Although you don’t carry my maiden name, you do carry many of the family traits { reddish/blond hair}. Whenever I am around people who only know me, or when I am alone with you, I always get told that you look just like me. When the nurses handed you to me for the first time in the hospital, I thought to myself, “He looks like me!” I suppose you are a perfectly cute blend of your dad and me. Most of all, you are genuinely you. Your personality is one of a kind. You are playful, friendly, happy, ambitious, silly, determined, smart, curious, busy, easy going, and sweet. You are such a special person and there is just something unique about you. You are so social. Even at your young age you have a way of making others feel like they are special too! You even make complete strangers feel loved. You smile at them, you will let them hold you, and play with you. I don’t know what the future holds for you, but I know that you are destined for great things. I hope that you always stay genuine to who you are and to where you came from and for what you stand for. April 2005
