These photos of me and my Grammie were taken in the same year;1979. The journaling is behind the photo of Grammie. We were so close and it seemed that we were more soul mates. We could complete each other's sentences. She was so young at heart, that she went to see the Beatles' movie; A Hard Day's Night. I went up to see her almost every summer and talked to her every week.

My Jewish grandmother taught me many things. She taught me to love my Jewish heritage through stories and photos, to let my creative side come out by teaching me to knit and crochet, and to value education.

She came to my high school graduation and gave me her diamond ring. When I graduated from college, she gave me money and a car.

Though she wanted me to marry a Jewish boy, she did come around to me marrying a gentile. Then all she wanted was great-grandchildren. A year after she died, after her unveiling, I presented her with her first great-grandchild. I could feel her along side of me along with my grandfather; Grampie.

To me she presented strength, courage, youth, honor, pride in herself and background, and confidence. I wish that I could hear her call my name but I know that she is watching over me. If there are phones in heaven; she is calling all the relatives about my sons and myself. lol
