Crumpled journaling: "June 14,08 We are now into the hurricane season. The severe thunderstorms have left us without electricity twice in the past week. We have the standard provisions necessary to make it..."(the note stops abruptly and is torn off to give the appearance of a journal page torn from its book and weathered by a direct hit in the eye of the hurricane). The power did go out twice this week due to the storms.
Journaling around the sandpapered brads: "Hurricane season has begun. It is time to prepare-2008."

I wanted to give this my "old Florida" touch because as in my "Genuine" LO this is my pure natural view of my state.I sandpapered the new brads and used all natural hemp rope for the string art. To assure the bg paper wouldn't tear I stuck a piece of cardboard about the thickness of thin chipboard behind the LO. I used frayed wire ribbon, beads on wire, distressing, real shells, homemade chipboard swirl, and various embells to give the impression of found objects washed ashore. The rub-ons are Hambly, Heidi Grace, and KC.

If you want to know where I got my inspiration of "old Florida"(aside from living here for decades and family that goes back to over 100 years ago tilling this soil)then watch Bogey and Bacall in "Key Largo".
