fresh is best! I grow herbs all through my vegetable and flower gardens - I just run out and snip some whenever I need. sometimes I dry it, but then I find I rarely use it. You can also freeze a lot of things - chop them up and put them in ice cube trays, fill with water and freeze. then you can store them in zip top bags in the freezer and pop them into whatever you're cooking whenver you need! :)

I have a similar goal - I want to learn how to extract scents and use them... like with roses or lavender... Good goal! I just read Red's comment... I think we have the same faucet.
Those pots look so prety all full of growing things. Dried herbs are quite easy to do. I am looking forward to the day when I can have a herb garden again. Love the sink faucet you have!
