This layout was inspired by a poem about Australia that I have always loved. It is titled "My Country", written by Dorothea MacKellar. The poem is hidden underneath the photo.

The poem is very long, but two of the verses read:
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of rugged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding plains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!

A opal-hearted country,
A wilful, lavish land -
All you who have not loved her,
You will not understand -
Though earth holds many splendours,
Wherever I may die,
I know to what brown country
My homing thoughts will fly.

My journalling reads:
At only eighteen, I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel overseas on more than one occasion. I have witnessed the awesome power of Niagara Falls and the wondrous beauty of the Rocky Mountains. I have enjoyed the bright lights of Los Angeles, the attractions of San Francisco and the rolling green pastures of New Zealand. I have experienced the culture of the Philippines and the hustle and bustle of Singapore. And as much as I have loved every minute of my time abroad, and intend to experience many more cultures in the future, I could not imagine a better place to live than this great country. I love its wide expanses, its small country towns. It is in my blood, it’s where I’ve grown up, it is my home.

I took the photo near where I live, however I edited it in Photoshop to make it look "sunburnt" - it's not that brown IRL!!
