SHCG: I also love the opposing colors! I would like to see the photo tinting to carry across both pages though. Great lo- I'd worry that a cs only lo would be boring, but this is totally not! Excellent!
Love, love the way you did the journaling! Suh-weet! Suh-weet photo placement , suh-weet use of the cs, suh-weet title and suh-weet brads on both sides! To sum it all up-suh-weet lo all the way!
SHCG - Way cool w/ the dual challenge responses here! Marvelous title too, to-die-for cool 'n cute. Simply fantastic how you kept up this reverse image yellow/green scheme & conveyed an athletic feel throughout the whole shebang. The photo tinting on the left is a great remedy to the poor lighting you didn't like. I wish I could zoom in to see the textured cardstock but I take your word for it. The writing on the photos is fantabulous, I feel like I'm peering onto a cool chick's yearbook! Awesome so far. Now, going back to that photo tinting, while I appreciate the true colors on the right side, I am wishing the photo tinting continued on that right side, because as the yellow/green cardstock scheme reverses from left to right, I kind of feel like the photo tinting will continue its checkerboard as I look left to right & it doesn't. I'm also not crazy about someone's face split in half, but truth be told, I didn't even notice until it was mentioned below! Otherwise, LOVE the double challenge whammy, love the jock-type feel, the fun you convey through the writing on the photos... suh-weet & fabulous LO!!
SHCG: Suh-weet is right! This luxury box was a total score. A home run! Certainly not a strike, a foul ball, or a bunt. I declare this a GRAND SLAM! Ok, I have exhausted my baseball vernacular. Alright, where to start.... The title: hilariously perfect. Loves. The little penwork that you did to accentuate the title: Loves. The color used as negatives to one another: Loves. Baseball players..Mmmm: Loves. The perfect balance of the elements on your layout: Loves. As Janet mentioned, cutting someone's face off: Don't Loves. *wink*. Your graffiti-esque writing on the walls..(we all see the writing on the wall, Brenda): Loves! In fact... REALLY LOVES. It reminds me a little of the beginning of Grease or Grease 2. Can't remember which. I digress. The pictures are fabulous and the whole layout takes the series! (OK, I had one more in me.)
SHCG: Love the spread. My only complaint is the photo at the top (the team shot) cuts a face or two in half. (It might just be the way they were uploaded). I would consider changing the title to black letters for more emphasis.
This two page spread is for two SHCG BWCs. The left side is for BWC #2-Cardstock, Cardstock, Cardstock, which was to create a lo with a focus on cs techniques, no pp. I used two plain cs and one textured for the title, all from DCWV; traced a border and doodled around the title and on the photos with Sakura pens; and added metal "brad" stickers.
Finally, I had bad lighting to deal with, so I added green tint to two of the photos on this page, and a yellow tint to the other two.
The right side is for BWC#11-Write on your photos. I thought these photos were perfect to doodle and write on, because of all the space above my subjects in the bottom two photos of this page. (I was having trouble with the viewfinder on the camera, and kept misreading the frame.)
The brown cs baseball player was made from a stencil, the baseball is a Mrs. Grossman sticker, and the Oakland arch was cut from one of the souvenir posters distributed at the game.
The photo blocks can be lifted, where the pages meet, for a peek at the rest of the team photo which was also distributed at the game.
These pages make up 3 & 4 of 5 that I scrapped for this event.
Journaling reads: While the rest of the folks dutifully watched the game, we had our eyes glued to the four TV screens on the wall--the baseball game, golf, and two football games. Of particular interest to us was the Cal vs. Oregon game. We begged the ushers to let us stay until the end of the Cal game which had us at the edge of our seats. With 22 seconds left, a touchback, ruled in our favor, secured a win for Cal 31-24 against a very defeated Ducks! Woo-hoo!
