While we were looking for a fish tank for our new 30 gallon stand, I decided to also look at the guinea pigs. I had been thinking about getting one for a couple of months. At one of the pet stores they had 1 female piggy that we were told had had babies and they were all sold. She was about 6 months old and was actually on sale. I decided to leave and to take some time to figure out if I really wanted a piggy. We went to a few other pet stores still in search of a 30 gallon fish tank and saw several different piggies. To make a long short we ended driving in rush hour traffic to go pick-up our baby girl. When we got there we were told by another girl that she didn’t think this was the girl piggy that had babies and thinks that she was actually a he. We already had our hearts set on this piggy, so we decided to get her/him anyway. On the way home we were trying to think of a name and then it dawned on me that we hadn’t checked to see if it was a boy or girl. When we got home we checked and we were so happy to find out she was a she. Naming her “Sam” because it is a boy/girl name seemed perfect. Even though most of the time the boys call her “Baby Girl”.
