Journaling Reads:

I had the best time decorating your nursery, but I couldn't have done it by myself. Daddy, Aunt Betsey, Grandma and Grandpa Gore helped from the painting to cleaning to assembling your crib and toys. Right down to the installation of your smoke alarm - "Grandpa Gore on patrol."

Your crib and bedding was a gift from Grandma and Grandpa Gore. I fell in love with the bedding the first time I saw it on ebay. We ordered it a week later from the potterybarn.com. It was used to tie in the island theme. Inspired by your middle name, " Irie" which means to be happy and positive (no worries). When we were on our cruise with Aunt Betsey and Uncie Steve we heard the Jamaicans saying it, " Everything is Irie, Man."

Your closet is filled with everything mostly pink and frilly. Most of those outfits are from Grandma & Grandpa Coon and Antie Gloria and shower guest. I never was a fan of pink until I knew you were a girl and then I couldn't resist buying you pretty pink stuff too. I'm sure having fun accessorizing with pink too. Some of your hand-me-down clothes and toys are from your cousin Jacob. You will hear a lot more about him as you get older. Grammy Gore even saved clothes that Mommy and Antie Betsey wore when we were kids. Mommy loves the vintage look of the old clothes they make your outfits unique.

Your dresser and bookshelf is from your Great Grandma Wanda. Grandma Gore painted it yellow some time ago and wouldn't you know it - it matched your bedding perfectly. The rocking chair had been in Grandma Gore's family for years.

The Powerpuff Girls stuffies are from Mommy. The teddy with the diaper was used to help Daddy learn how to put diapers on. Soph, he got it on the first try and he thought he knew nothing about babies. He is a natural and doesn't even know it.
