SHCG: I love the photos and the pp and the flowers. I too wish the journaling was written on a journaling spot or some other paper to bring it out more. Lovely!
Oh wow, seeing him touch his daughters knowing it would be a long time till he sees them, it brings tears to my eyes and sadness to my heart. Stay strong!
SCHG: This is a very touching page. I wish your journaling was more emphasized though! I really like the the polka dot pp and the flower border, but for some reason it doesn't seem to fit with the subject to me. I love the accent pp's and the title font though! Nice page though- the story is what is important, and you've got a great one here!
SHCG: Wow, I teared up when reading your journaling. How sweet and moving! I love your colors and the flowers too. I have to say I agree with everyone else in mounting the journaling especially since it is so important in this LO, it should be popping. Beautiful page here girl and gorgeous babies!
SHCG: Those pics are so heartwrenching, Vanessa! What beautiful moments you captured! I love that font (where have I seen it before?) and how you dotted glitter on the letters. The layering is great. I'm with everyone else on a solid cs journaling block, to give your sweet story the attention it deserves. I like Tiff's suggestion to use a yellowish mustard; it would be easy to place it over your existing journaling. Actually, a vellum in the same color would look cool, too. The flowers are cute, and I like how you alternated the colors, but I'd go with the less is more theory on this one, so that they don't take away from those precious photos. I can see a trail coming from the right side of never and another trail from the left side of goodbye. This way, you'd have more of those flowers to keep in your stash. ;) Also, I'd like to see each with either a beaded center, or a glittered dot like in your title. Of course, you can also totally ignore any of my suggestions, since you love this lo so much, and that's all that matters really! It really is a nice page.
SHCG: This is lovely, girlfriend. I can feel the raw emotion. I agree with the others regarding the journaling. I would also suggest that you mount the photos on the yellowish mustard color in the background and in the flowers. Just a thought. I love this and think you are handling hubby's deployment with grace. *hugs*
SHCG: Wht a gorgeous sentiment. I think the journaling is kind of difficult to read though (looks like Sharon and I agree on this one!) and something this beautiful should be featured!
SHCG - Vanessa, this is so beautiful. I absolutely LOVE the photos & the heartfelt quote/journaling. The dotted pp & flowers around the edges are really pretty. I like the paper layering, the blinged title & your nice handwriting too. I think my only critique is that it's a little difficult to read the writing since it's on pp but this is so lovely as is, I had to think twice before saying that at all. Excellent job! And hang in there during this difficult time, hon!
i love this layout so much. this is my husband saying goodbye to the girls before he boarded the plane for deployment. the journaling reads " these were the words that daddy told us when he was leaving. he saud "its never goodbye, its ill see you later. and as the days slowly drag on, we are going to live by these words. these are thefinalpictures before he boarded. june 2008." tfl
