FunFest Dinner Theatre 2003 - My drama group puts on a play for this every year. This is RS green ripple paper - my scanner didn't like it much.
Journaling reads: July 18-20, 2003, The Light Company presented Funfest Dinner Theatre at First Baptist Church.. Dinner was BBQ provided by D& J Catering and the play we presented was “The Curious Savage”. The play was directed by Alan Meade and coordinated with the Funfest Committee by Theresa Meade and Betty Casey. Cast members were: Carol Casey as Ethel P. Savage; David Casey as Dr. Emmett; Linda Fleming as Miss Willie (the nurse); Bob Miller as Jeffrey; Matt Wright as Hannibal; Sarah Wright as Fairy May; Fran Lunsford as Mrs. Patty; Melissa Feagins & Cindy Francisco as Florence; Tyler Fleming as Senator Titus Savage; Betty Casey as Lily Belle Savage; and Ken Wilmouth as Judge Samuel Savage.
The play takes place at The Cloisters, a sanitorium in New England. Mrs. Savage’s children have her committed to The Cloisters after discovering that she has converted the family fortune into negotiable bonds in an effort to try to get her to tell them where the money is. After Mrs. Savage reveals the bonds to her children in exchange for her freedom someone from The Cloisters takes it and returns it to Mrs. Savage after her children leave resigned to living in relative poverty. If you want to know who took it – read or see “The Curious Savage” it’s quite amusing when “the bees come home and find the honey gone” and it has a good message about human nature too.
