Deb I am so excited to get a look at what you have chosen to add to my cj. Thank you so much for what you have added. I am really looking forward to seeing it irl :)
Now I can read it and it brings back so many memories of visiting my own grandmother in Humboldt, KS! Everything I read up there reminds me of our own trips. Sweet, sweet journaling!
Very lovely! I am a little scared to get this one. My Grandma is very sick and by the time I get this, she will likely be in the Father's arms. So this one will be hard for me to do!!
I had an aunt bernice. In fact it's my middle name. Also,my grandmother was named Lily. Must be a generational thing aye?
I love this journal page. The memories are so rich and wonderful.
This is my addition to GroovyDeborah's CJ entitled "Grandma Knew". Journaling reads: GRANDMA KNEW . . . how to make things grow. After all she raised her own Brady Bunch consisting of three boys and three girls: Cleve (Uncle Buck), Charles, Kenny, Amanda (Auntie Sis), Lily Annabelle (my mom Anne), and Bernice (Auntie Bea).
Every summer our family would pile in the car for a road trip to Iowa to visit our relatives. Our first stop was always the Maid-Rite, a hometown, diner-style restaurant that served the best loose meat sandwiches in the world! But, as soon as our tummies were full, we were on our way to Grandma's house.
Although I wasn't able to spend a lot of time with my grandma, one of my fondest memories was pulling up to her huge, two-story house with a wonderful wraparound porch. Down what seemed like an enormous hill was her beautiful garden. She grew just about every vegetable you can think of, and was always in the kitchen canning something. My mom definitely inherited Grandma's green thumb!
