Mini book pg 10-11

I printed diary entries onto vellum and thought it turned out pretty cute, even though it got a little smeared.
Journal Entry reads,
Our Grand Canyon Trip

March 18, 2005
This evening we drove to Phoenix to pick up our good friend Valerie at the airport. It was so exciting to be getting together. Joe, Katie and I had dinner at Red Robin while waiting for Valerie’s flight from Florida to arrive. We all happily greeted Valerie when she arrived and headed off for our next destination: Cottonwood. We arrived at Grandpa John’s house really late at night and all went to bed eager for the next day.

March 19, 2005
We woke up this morning and had a nice breakfast together. Then, we went to visit Grandma Dianne. Karen and Kobe were there with new baby Jacob. He was so little and tiny. Finally, we were off to the Grand Canyon.
It was a long and scenic drive. We drove through freezing rain and snow. The snowflakes falling down were huge. We stopped in Flagstaff for lunch at Chili’s. It was nice to warm up. Joe and Valerie needed warmer clothes for the unexpected snowy weather so we went shopping. We all laughed when we went into Target and they had nothing but bathing suits and summer clothes out. It was fun trying on snow hats and gloves. Katie got an adorable pink snowsuit at the mall. After we were all warm we headed up to the Grand Canyon.
The Canyon was all fogged in and you could not see five feet in front of you. It was exquisite! We walked around in the cold, wet snow and tried to catch snowflakes on our tongues. After we were all frozen we decided to head back to the hotel for the night and pick up some hot pizza to warm us up.

March 20, 2005
The skies were clear blue this morning so we raced to the Canyon hoping to beat the fog. When we arrived we had a perfect view. Glorious Grand Canyon as far as the eye could see! It was breathtakingly magnificent.
