O.K. I'll admit city life is alluring. I'd love having dining, shopping, cultural events, and entertainment just minutes away. I'd love to go out for a nice meal on a whim and not have to plan in advance because the closest restaurant is an hour away! Both Rick and I grew up in the country though and most days can't imagine living elsewhere! As a child I loved playing outside. In the summer we always had a large garden and strawberry patch. I would help my mom pick strawberries (although more ended up in my mouth than in the bowl) and mom would make delicious strawberry jelly that would last us all winter! I'm a country girl at heart! I would go fishing, climb trees, and play Dukes of Hazzard on the large tractors in the shed. I always dreamed of owning a home in the country when I got older. So it was definitely a dream come true when Rick and I purchased 70 acres and had a home built that we were able to move into in 2004. We are now raising our own little country girl! She was excited today to get to water her new cows. June 27, 2007
