Great concept for the title. I love how u made the book fronts on transparencies...very clever and it looks like pp...guess that was the idea huh, LOL. Anyway...I love the green paper and the photo.
this is great, love what you did with the books! I read "IT" when I was 15 and in the hospital for appendicitis, not the smartest move! Still hate clowns!
My Ds has a passion for Stephen King, but the film the shining scared me so much and other one can't remember the name i can't pick up the books my Ds gives for fear of being scared!!! LOL Give me a good detective novel.
Such an awesome layout! I think if I gave him enough of a chance, I would probably like his books. It drives me crazy the way he tells about so many people in the beginning whether they are relevant to the whole story or not. Someday I will break down and read his work. On the other hand, I did see Cujo and was scared out of my mind! I love the part of your journaling about your dad...sounds like something my dad would have done!
Oh this is fantastic! I love the transparency with the books. That's great! And you know, I am a huge SK fan, too. I was -so- excited when the last Dark Tower book came out. It was my whole life in the making! LOL!
Awesome LO! Into my faves. I may need to lift this!
I have never read anything by him, to chicken, but I do sleep with the closet doors shut there might me something in there. :) I love how you made the background paper with the books, how cool!
Great LO! Believe it or not I have never read anything of Stephen Kings (terrible thing for a Librarian to admit) I am way to chicken. I have parents asking me about some of his books all the time because they have a child (young adult) that wants to read one and they want to make sure it is OK. I have to be honest with them and say I don't know......Usually I print book reviews for them and they have to figure the rest out by themselves. :O)
Love your journaling! I've read a few of Kings books with my favorite being The Eyes of the Dragon. I read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon too but wasn't very impressed with that one as I thought it was boring. I'm not an avid reader so I prefer to watch the movies! This is really and awesome lo! =}
I AM Stephen King’s biggest fan (ha ha – Annie Wilkes would be so proud!) I’ve been reading his books since I was 11 or 12. Yes, a little young for the material, but my mom says she couldn’t stop me. I guess I had read everything else in the house and since Mom read Stephen King, that’s what I wanted to do. So, one day she gave me Night Shift to read. I LOVED it. One story, in particular, really got me – “The Boogeyman”. I AM still afraid to sleep with the closet door open, and I MOST CERTAINLY DO NOT leave one foot hanging over the edge of the bed at night! From there I went on to Carrie, Fire Starter and Salem’s Lot. No other book has had quite the same effect on me as Salem’s Lot. I have always had a healthy fear of vampires. Now, after dark, I AM sure there are vampires out there (yes, this is some 30+ years later!). Once, when I was 16, I was re-reading Salem’s Lot and my Dad snuck outside and scratched on my window. (If you’ve ever read this book, you know that’s how the vampires tried to get in to the little boy’s room.) Of course, I went screaming from my room, only to find my Dad collapsed on the porch in fits of laughter. I think that the Dark Tower books are some of the best ever written; I was both happy and sad when the final book came out after waiting over 20 years. The most recent of his books to REALLY give me the creeps was Dream Catcher. Wow – I had to put it down for about a year before I could get past the first half! I couldn’t even READ Gerald’s Game – I had to get it on a CD and listen to it during the day in my car. Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? But I just can’t get enough! I’ve read all of his books… I have them all in hard back. I’ve seen all of the movies (Storm of the Century about did me in!) and I even have several books written ABOUT him, my favorite being “The Stephen King Universe.” I AM a member of the fan club. I get regular emails from his website. I AM a Stephen King junkie, to put it mildly! And, yes… I AM afraid of the dark. July 2008
I took photos of all of my Stephen King books, then cropped them and made the transparency.
