Gerat LO. I really like how you used the fishing "things"...lol...dont know a thing about fishing, but what ever you used for the hinges. Great sewing! Mine little machine will only allow me to sew on the edges...not enough space on the machine.
i sooo love this lo!!! that scrappy quilt style is awesome!!! love the outdoorsy colors and all your fishing embellies!!! my dad sure would be envious of that fish!! wow!! great job!!!
Wow...that's a heck of a catch and a heck of fantastic job on this challenge! Love that paper and the fishing embellies. Dad should be proud of you! Best of luck to you in "ROUND" #4!!!
This LO was for week 3 of the Decathlon. Our challenge was to use dye in our LO. I dyed the strips of paper on the top and bottom of the page using 4 different shades of Ranger Distressing inks...some were crumpled and inked, then sprayed. Some were soaked and then inked. Some were other combinations of the above! I sewed these pieces together scrappy-quilt style. I also used dyed paper as the photo mat and put some dyed paper through the printer for the quote box.
I used fishing swivels for the hinges and accents on the quote box.
Quote Reads:
Gone Fishin' When I go fishing I'm always wishing Some fish will be my prize; But while I'm fishing The fish are wishing Otherwise. And all the wishes of all the fishes Seem always to come true; So all my wishes to catch some fishes Never do.
When the picture is flipped up, it reveals four more pics of my dad fishing, a homemade coaster and journaling: "For 21 years now, Dad has made his yearly treks to Canada, to his special fishing spot --Bear Lake. He looks forward to that trip more than anything else!
