Every detail to this LO is wonderful. The dye on the tags, flowers and frayed fabric, The placement of each piece...love how you rotated the last tag. The diffrent brads just add a special touch...I love it!
Oh Wendy...this one is just to dye for! (Sorry!) It is absolutely beautiful! You did an AMAZING job on this one! Absolutely, positively...go for publication with this gorgeous masterpiece!
This lo was for week #3, Decathlon Challenge. The challenge was to use DYE on your lo.
I created the tags by spritzing and crumpling cardstock, then ironing it until it was dry and flat. I then cut out the tags with a sizzix die. Then I placed them partially in Tim Holtz Adirondack Color Wash in Raisin & Eggplant, kind of letting them "wick" up a portion of the dye into the paper. (Very messy and takes a long time to dry! ) When the tags were somewhat dry I ironed them also and they turned a lovely marbled shade of the dye color mix.
The handmade embossed paper behind the photo was also washed with the dye and then torn.
Finally, the blooms and the fabric used were also dyed with the Raisin colored dye. I found that the blooms took the dye best if I got them wet first and then applied the dye full strength with a paint brush.
This will go into an 8 1/2 x 11 heritage album I am making. It will also include journaling and family tree pages.
Other items used on this lo: PP: Provo Craft and unknown (small flowers) Eyelet Snaps: MM Decorative Brads: Joanns Ink Pad: Ranger Embroidered Trim, unknown Skeleton Key Charm Foam Stamps: MM (misunderstood) and acrylic paint
