Really like the look of this one, especially where you traced inside the scallops with white. And that bit about using plain vellum behind the pictures - I like the way it looks and want to try that now.
This is very cute. I love the inking around the edges, gives a cool effect. The negative space looks fantastic too. I love that you did everything on an angle, it is a very different look. The paw print scraps and doodles are great detail as well!
I haven't yet convinced myself to do a negative space LO. I just feel the need to fill in the empty spots. You did a great job. The ink around the outside is awesome.
This is a LO of my cat, Sylvester. =D This is the first negative space LO I've done. I never used to like them, but lately I've been drawn to them and decided to try one myself.
-I applied Tim Holtz distress inks (Aged Mahogany, Black Soot) to the edges of the white cardstock with a Q-Tip. -I used some paper scraps to put behind the pictures (I have way too many scraps, I need to be getting rid of them!) -I cut the plain red mat with scalloped-edged scissors and traced that pattern around the inside with a white gel pen. -The black flourishes are from a clear stamp, and I added some gems to the ends of the flourishes for a bling effect (kind of hard to see here) -The red flourishes are hand-doodled -The flower consists of 2 yellow, 1 white, and 1 red flower and is attached with a silver brad -I used vellum paper behind both pictures (to the top left of the left pic and the bottom right of the right pic) -- it's kind of hard to see here. -I wrote "Sylvester Kitty Cat" beneath the paw print paper -I added a yellow bow at the bottom and 3 yellow ribbons (attached with silver brads) to the side of the photo.

SWIRLS (Aug 2008) - use swirls/flourishes, use 2 photos and some bling -I used 2 photos of my cat, Sylvester -The bling consists of 6 gems at the ends of the black flourishes
SOMEONE ADORABLE (Aug 2008) - scrap someone adorable, use a touch of yellow, use a bow -Of course my kitty is adorable! =D -I used 2 yellow flowers, 3 yellow ribbons on the pic, and 1 yellow bow
