SHCG: Another great page. Just LUV the photos. Fabulous job capturing the action. My only suggestion might be to stamp a small design on the peach color mat. Even just white and gray circles to break it up a little.
SHCG: Christy, I love the way that your vacation album is coming together! I can only imagine that this was the perfect refreshment to douse the humidity that only Florida can create! I love the colors of the background papers and mats. Who makes the background paper? I really think it is stunningly beautiful! The photos are sooo cute. I love the way you are turning to see if the water is coming in the middle picture and I adore the picture where you are getting soaked. The woman running could have ruined the photo, but the motion of her running away really adds to the photo! I love it! Great job!
SHCG - I love the journaling here...it reminds me of a day on our honeymoon...there was a waterslide at the resort that was always overrun w/ kids but adults would go there early in the morning so they could have fun before the little ones woke up & took over the slide, haha! Like Bren, I like the consistent look through this album. I could see some inking around the mattes, the way you did in the 1st 2 pages of your "Busch Gardens" LOs. Am soo diggin these super-fun pics, fresh colors/pp & your excellent accompanying account!
shcg: just loving going thru your vacation with you. the pics are georgious the water spray is so much fun to look at. i am a clutter person and would like to see some more embellishments. but that is just an oppinion. i like these pages just like they are too!
SHCG: LOL I'd be standing there with all those little kids myself :) Love the shots on this, you really captured that "Drench Zone". Great job with the journaling also. Great job :)
SHCG: Totally agree with Brenda on the consistent/thematic approach to this album. I don't know if I've mentioned it but I love the colors and papers you are using. My favorite photo is DEFINITELY the one in the lower right, so cool! I can totally see a title of some sorts going in the top right in a font similiar to Doodlbug's Loopy Lou. Maybe "The SheiKra" and take that little title portion out of the journal box.
SHCG: I really like the consistent look you're using for this album. The pictures on this page are just great. I love how your dds are surrounded by little kids. I get a real kick out of so much in the red matted photo--you turning to the source with your arms scrunched in anticipation, the action in the background, and a kid cowering in the corner. Props to dd for snapping that shot. The last one is a good one, too, because you two are showered in water, while the adult with the camera is just out of range so she appears more in focus. Great contrasts between the subjects. I like Drench Zone for a title. I had the same thought as Janet. I can see white scrolls on that peach panel.
Once again, the scan makes everything appear a bit off kilter, but is linear irl.
The SheiKra
It was in the 90's and very humid. Even though we were there in the morning hours, the heat was all ready getting uncomfortable. Then we came across the SheiKra. A crazy looking roller coaster with large drops, loops, and towards the end, the ride hits the water sending a HUGE wave onto anyone watching the experience from nearby. I walked safely out of the "drench zone" to take a photo of Amber & Jamie as they waited for the wall of water to hit. After being drenched they walked towards me laughing and soaked and told me how refreshing it was! As I looked around I noticed the only other people waiting for the next wave were under the age of 10. All adults seemed to run away. I didnt want to be the only other person over 4 foot standing, willingly in the path of the wave so I talked my all ready drenched Jamie into going back in with me while Amber stood a safe distance away with a camera to capture our moment in the drench zone!
