For the decathlon "you spin me round" challenge.

The pics are of my sister. She's just a natural in front of the camera!

Page 1: I turned the background of the photo b/w and left Emily in color. Every corner is rounded...on the pic, the strips, and the corners of the background paper. It's really hard to see, but on the three strips under the photo are 'my', "LITTLE", and 'SISTER. (white mm rub-ons). I used mm foam stamps and the font ck cursive for the title (font was a homemade rub-on). All edges were inked...edges of the pic were sanded and inked.

Page 2: All corners rounded here too. I stamped "happy birthday" over and over around the perimeter of the overlapping pics to give it a quasi-border. I inked the flower and used ck cosmopolitan font for the name/date (last name and date blurred out for privacy reasons). I used a 1" circle punch and stamps for the title around the big circle. I used ck nifty and chick fonts for the journaling in the lower 1/4-circle. Again, everything is inked, including the pics.

Journaling: "It's kind of a TRADITION that Mom makes special cakes for holidays. Even before she got a job in a bakery, she has always loved to bake. Since Emily's BIRTHDAY is so close to Valentine's Day, this year Mom decided to make a HEART cake for Emily's BIRTHDAY as well as for Valentine's Day. Here is Emily, showing off her cake and flowers--and mom, showing off her baking & decorating skills. Look at all that CANDY!"
