a couple years ago, I decided to make a Revenge of the 70s sweater using the modular domino knitting style, but Gauge Matters, and I didnt' check it. I like large sweaters, but the 56" or so it was going to be is TOOOO much ease. SOooooo a whole boatload of diamonds got ripped and I just tied the ends of each color together as I went (I'd been making the diamonds striped) and the yarn languished in balls for ages, till I got the idea to revisit the sweater as a top-down with the yoke using all those bits of yarn.
Now I have a yoke with a thousand ends I need to deal with, give or take, but it LOOKS really cool, and it fits me wonderfully, so that's what really matters. And maybe someday I'll finish it!
