I made this to accompany my lo, remember this, for Becky's KISS challenge.

The photos were taken by DD#1, who was 5 at the time.

Journaling: (sorry for the novel)
I love this picture of you. It speaks so much, a child’s innocence. I love the colors, the blue of the water, the orange of your shirt. Looking at this picture, I can remember the day I took it like it was yesterday. The date was Sunday, April 14, 2002 I was taking a photography class to finish up my Bachelor’s degree. The Friday before, my class was going to the Chicago Botanical Gardens to take pictures. I couldn’t go on Friday since there was no one to watch Kaitlynn all day, plus I wouldn’t have been home in time for you to get home from school. So we decided to go on Sunday instead. Auntie Also went with us, sort of a birthday trip since her birthday was the day before. I let you use my old camera to take pictures too. You had so much fun; you wanted to take pictures of everything you saw. You even got some really good shots. We all had a really good time. What little did we know that the very next day, our lives would be turned upside down. Daddy got laid off from his job, along with most of the people who worked at Krones. For the next 18 months we had a very rough time. The job market was terrible as an after effect of September 11th. Daddy went on tons of interviews, but nothing panned out. We eventually had to move in with Grandpa until we could get back on our feet. I know it was rough for you; you had to move away from your friends, from your school, from everything you knew. We eventually got through it, although it’s still tough at times. I wish you didn’t have to go through all of this, but I know it has made us all stronger. I hope that you won’t dwell on those 18 months. I hope that you’ll always remember this day, the fun we had as a family and that I love you very much.
