Wow, what an awesome scrapbook page indeed! I love layouts like that, because they show what scrapbooking is about: not forgetting those small treasures of the everyday life!
To me this is what scrapping is all about, preserving precious memories in the most attractive way possible ... and that is what you do best!!! You know I love every single one of your pages, but this one .... wow, I hardly have words for it. I love the journaling, the drawing (of course), but also the pics you added all have a special meaning and story to tell with the drawing, that (painted??) background, the fun title work, ... everything just ties together... love love love this!!!!! Fav!
Oh Betty this is a beautiful story and I love the photos of your Raggedy and hers, and the drawings you both did!!I have been wishing I had some of my kids drawings to do this with!!! How wonderful!!
This is soooo sweet! The pp's are perfect with this! Love the little buttons, the hearts, the drawings!! Fantastic job preserving such a sweet memory! Straight to my faves!
Hidden journaling reads: "The photo in the bottom right shows a drawing that I did at around age 10 of my Raggedy Ann. That's her at the bottom right of the photo along with Sarah's Raggedy Ann and Andy on the left. I got my doll from an abandoned suitcase at the airport (my Daddy was the manager for Eastern Air Lines in Waycross, GA). He brought her and the little cosmetic bag that she was left in home to me one day. You can see by how raggedy she is that I really loved her. When Sarah was about 7 or 8 years old, my mother had my drawing framed and gave it to Sarah to hang in her room. Then Sarah drew this version of my drawing. I just love the sweet note that she wrote along with it. The photo in the top right corner is me and Sarah at her brother's birthday party. Sarah was about 8 years old at the time."
I found this note (actually she drew two of them, almost identical - I gave the other to Sarah to scrap) last week when I was digging through Sarah's box of old keepsakes. I couldn't wait to do a page about it - had totally forgotten it until I saw it again!
The whole layout is done with scraps (except for the bg sheet). Found the Raggedy Ann and Andy ceramic buttons in my old sewing stuff. The little red heart was also a button. The lettering is handcut. TFL!!!
