Perfect LO for the picture. I love the opening in the middle as it could represent the quote "the very edges of your soul". -Creative. going into my favs!
AMAZING detail work on this!!! And what a great story. What a perfect spot you found to frequent as a child. I too would be scared to check and see if it's still there. Probably better to keep it as is in your memories. :) TFS!!!
I like all the hand cut stuff. I can see that you put alot into this lo. I like to put alot into lo's. I may think of what I want to do for several days before I do it, then work on one for several days after. I am a slow scrapper. You are very artistic. faves
I created this layout for the August Pick a Quote Challenge and Round Robin Scraplift. I can't remember which month this quote is from but it is "If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a tree in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom. ~Audra Fovea"
I hand cut the tree branches, leaves, flower petals and title. I inked and glittered the edges of each leaf before adhering with pop dots. I doodled the butterfly trails and hand wrote the journaling, which reads:
As a child growing up in Northern Michigan I fell in love with one tree. We lived on 60 acres of wooded land but one tree was mine. My parents knew they could find me there when I was late for dinner and it was my first choice in a game of hide and seek. I eagerly climbed it almost every day. My tree is a poplar. Tall and sturdy with deeply grooved bark at its base and a beautiful silver sheen near the crown. I would climb my tree just to sit in the thin branches at the top and sway with the breeze. I would climb my tree when I was in the mood to read a story or if I wanted to sketch. I would take snacks and drinks with me just so I wouldn't have to climb down. I've even been caught snoozing in my tree. I have fallen out of my tree more than once but always returned. Its branches were long and sturdy so I could walk from my tree to others nearby. I haven't seen my tree since my parents sold the land and I'm afraid to visit. What if the new owners cut down my tree because they failed to see how special it is? I couldn't bear to know so I continue to think it's doing well.
