This July afternoon was one of the hottest of the 2005 summer at over 100 degrees. Although it was a perfect day for staying indoors, we attended an outdoor graduation party. I only kept you there for about an our & you played in the cooler full of ice most of the time. You were so thrilled to get home... you just wanted to roll around on the floor & enjoy the chilly air conditioning. Later in the night, your temperature spiked to 102.7 which is always scary for me. The fever came & went for a few (long) days. I leaned never to assume that those bright pink cheeks are just caused by the heat of summer.
