Tricia...This is such a touching story....and the altered box is wonderfully creative....makes me think of the story, "I Will Love You Forever"...I remember going into my son's room when he was about ten, and longing to hold him in my arms, although he was too "grown up" to agree to that.....fortunately, he was a sound sleeper, so I cradeled him in my arms and promised myself I would never forget that moment. Your story is just a tender....thanks for reawakening that memory!....Patty
I went into my son's room tonight to see if he was sleeping and he wasn't. Anyway, I saw that he had dug out my IPod box and was using it to store some of his favorite cars. I went to move it off his bed and he said to me: "Mommy, get the lid, it's on the floor, you have to put the lid on". Then I asked him: "Do you like my box?" Then he whispered to me: "Yes Mommy, that's where I keep my treasures". Anyway so I asked him if he wanted me to use "his" papers to make it special and he was thrilled. So this is my first "altered" item as the opportunity came.
