This is one of my favorite lo's from you. The words are sooooo true. Becoming a new mother has many hopes and dreams attached to it...dreams...yes...sleep deprived, delusional, crazy, elation, pure love...yes! It is amazing the spectrum of feelings that you can go through in such a short period of time. I often say Nicholas was my first true love. When I had him I knew I was feeling something that I never felt before; it was simply beautiful. I'm so glad that nine years later I can share this "new" mommy experience with you. Keep scrappin!
OMG. Now, I am going through some of your lo's and have no idea if this was a winner in the contest, but if it wasn't, I am falling off my chair. This is magnificent. The photo edit alone is brilliant and then you put together a masterpiece like this?? You are amaaaaaaazing, woman!! Amazing.
Love this! So very detailed and loved what you wrote.
(Don't get excited by where I work, I don't help judge the contest at all --That's Rusty Pickle's job. And boy, do they ever have a job ahead of them!)
Let's face it. I was delusional about motherhood. I had dreams of being Mother Theresa, Martha Stewart and Wonder Woman all in one. In fact, I still do.
But like a lot of dreaming mothers, I was dazed and awakened by the urgent cry of a little babe who suddenly became my own.
What was it that you needed? Was it milk? Was it to change your diaper? Was it the onset of sickness?
As a first time mother I fretted about the cryptic cries.
Thankfully, nine times out of ten I figured out what you needed but there was that occasional once that I couldn't.
Then the reality of distress and panic would come. Was this the beginning of colic? Was my baby in pain? What should I do?!
Usually a close embrace and a walk would do the trick.
But I must admit. There were times when I wished for a hug, needed to go for a walk and cry too. The reality is sometimes I still do.
Don't get me wrong. Motherhood is a dream come true but everywhere moms need a break to dream a little too!
