Oh goodness-how very terrifying for you...I'm so sorry you had to go through that. If there was as silver lining at that time, it would be that he was at PCH. My daughter went there for a sedated MRI and my girlfriend's son had multiple surgeries there. The staff is as helpful as they can be for a horrified parent going through this and the equally terrified child. I'm SO happy for you that he enjoys good health today. What a difficult memory that must have been for you to share.
oh my, i just had to say that after reading this my heart goes out to you, and i thank god your baby is ok now.
you had to be so scared, , i have a son the only son, who has bronchitious, {soryry bout the spelling, but he had problems when a baby too. but not as scary as yours, we had home home, and he was ok one min. then the next he was burning up with a fever.
they treared him and sai d it was broncial, we had to stay up day and night back then and keep him sponged down.
aweful thing to go threw isn't it! thank you for shaing this with us, i am crying as writing this and my hands are shackey.
but had to finish.

Gosh that was scary just to read. My ds had the same surgery at 5 months and it was postponed once due to a chest cold. There are respiratory tests that can and should be done on all babies before any surgery because their lungs are more fragile. Thanks for sharing. My ds has asthma so I understand why it took you so long to be able to "relive" this nightmare. Hugs!
OMGosh, you poor thing! My heart raced as I read your story, so desperate to read that everything turned out okay. Thank God it did! Being a mother myself, I just cannot imagine going through that. What a nightmare!!!
I totally agree with the speaker before me! I don't even know what to say about this story, it's just so... If if wasn't for my cats who distracted me in the middle of my reading, I would've cried and cried and cried even though it has a happy ending that he is healthy now! Because you're way of telling it really makes the reader feel like it's happening to them! I'm just so incredibly happy for you that he is healthy today. I don't know what else to say, but I couldn't just read it and not leave a comment at all... All my love!
Wow...sad and soooo scary to see ur child like that and it makes us feel so helpless...not a good feeling ya know? I really like that u journaled the entire thing. TFS. It should serve to us all as a reminder that each day we just never know...so take life and live like there's no tomorrow. Sad story but I gotta say I like the font and how u made a few words red to emphasize some feelings. The title in large letters spanning across the page looks really nice. I feel odd commenting on such a sad happening in the lives of ur family and ur baby. I'm also prone to getting pneumonia. Never knew why but have been since I was a baby and I'm the only sibling of 4 that gets it often, almost 50 and I still get it. I know his pain. It's very scary when u can't breath and when pneumonia isn't caught in time it causes major health issues. I know u'll take good care of him.
These are therapeutic layouts, aren't they? I hope it helped you to get it on paper! I, too, dread hospitals and those helicopters....only my child didn't make it. I am so thankful that you and your family are doing well 7 years later!

Wow! Thank god everything turned out ok! I know how you feel, my boys had severe asthma attacks when they were babies and were gasping for air. Scary stuff, rushing them to the hospital!
This is such a powerful story. There is nothing nothing the can come close to the fear you feel for your child when they have a health scare. Your panic and complete distress came through in your journaling. I imagine it was difficult, yet maybe a bit cathartic to chronicle. But it is good to do so. This is your history, your family story. Its even more powerful to think that 3 or 4 generations down the line, they will be able to read this and KNOW you. Know your love, your pain..and you will be real to them in a way that so many of our ancestors are not. TFS such a moving memory.
when your journaling can make complete strangers cry for you and want to hug you, you know you've done a good job. this is so full of emotion and strength - it may have happened 7 years ago but you journal it like it was just yesterday. You were amazing and did everything right...just as Patty said, God knew what he was doing. I'm glad you were able to get this on paper, and thank you for sharing with us. It's so touching.
awesome journaling ... so glad he is okay! i went through a similar experience, my dd choked and went blue and unconcious. Thankfully she was okay in the end too ... so scary to have to go through things like this!
Omgshh...I am crying sitting here reading this. I can't imagine going through something like this. I agree with the comments below that you are soo brave. I hope that I will be as strong as you if the time ever comes. I am glad to hear he is healthy now. Thank you for sharing this.
The story of what happened this fateful day takes precedence over the LO itself, so I'll save that for the end.
I hardly know what to say, since I've never been through anything like this. I do know you are a very BRAVE lady! .....When seconds counted you remained calm enough to get little Griffin the help he so desperately needed.....You are to be commended, Janna! God knew what he was doing when he gave Griffin to you.
About the LO, it is appropriately simple, as the journaling is EVERYTHING. And, the clock....showing the 11th hour is PERFECT!
