Desk note journal: "31st October 2008
Dearest Dr. Morriston,
Your last correspondence was greatly welcomed. Higher intelligence is as expected in that the female has displayed tool making abilities. Despite the suggestions you expounded, reproducable results remain as elusive as the creature herself. The dimming of lights and music appear to soothe. The sign language will, on occasion, evoke a postive response. However, the female is highly agitated and resists all attempts at socialization. Inlies the reason for my urgent request for your assistance. She has become accustom to the stall cleaning and feeding schedules. She has become tolerant to the tranquilizer. Villagers refuse to return to their duties after the last aide lost two digits of his right hand and was nearly blinded. Rations are dwindling. Need provisions as soon as possible. I ,again, beseech you to reconsider my offer to join me in this research. We have been friends for many years and your insight would be most appreciated. The clever female's tool making skills make it almost impossible to sleep. I fear she will escape without around-the-clock watches. I must go for now. Give Harriette my love.

Sincerely,
Ripley I. Po"......(letter
abruptly ends with Prof. Poe unable to
finish his signature)
I made my costume years ago and did my own "make-up". This lo screamed Halloween horror story/mystery and this is what I did:
Cosmo Cricket distressed wood paper for the desk top.
Made a journal with scraps....the R.I.P. is Prof Poe's monogram(got the idea for Poe because of Edgar Allan Poe) and the "Missing Link" is volume # 13(supposively an unlucky number)
Added Candy-Corn Halloween treats(got from DCWV multipack) and highlighted them to look more 3D.
I took a pic of the pencil and eraser to give this a more desk-like feeling.
I splattered red paint for the blood.
The whole idea stems from my love of ghost stories and mysterious novels.

P.S. I really did jump up from around a corner of my friend's house and hollered like a banshee while scaring the "scat" out of the children....scared alot of adults too!!!!It was a BLAST!!!!!!
