Julie, this is just SOOOO sweet!!! :) I can't believe how big Claire is getting, and I just love all of your journaling about your family's excitement about the baby. I know that Claire is going to be a wonderful big sister!! And how cute that she asks when the baby's kicking, or brings things in "double" for you & the baby to eat!! Just too cute!! :)
That is such a Cute LO.. I love how you embellished both your hands on your Belly.. What a great LO... The Journaling is awesome and the Gilrs will appreciate it when they are older..
experiencing the birth of each new one is SO excited as you watch your other kids delight in it all!!! Congratulations, what a fun page and wonderful journaling!
That's an awesome layout! Love the journaling. I was too little to remember when my mom was pregnant with my little sister but it sounds like Claire's well on her way to being an awesome big sister.
Your journaling is always so beautiful Julie. This layout is very precious and I especially love the bling around your hand and Claire's. How wonderful that she is getting to share in this beautiful moment!
I used patterned paper, leftover scraps, textured ribbon secured with brads, a vellum quote, rhinestones and stickers.
Journaling: As with most first pregnancies, my time carrying Claire was definitely sweet. It was just Martin and me experiencing all those firsts together - first sonogram, first kicks, first day in maternity clothing, etc. The magic was in the unexpected.
Now, I'm finding that this second pregnancy brings about its own magic and it's all because of Claire. Even though we are just as excited, Martin and I are "old hands" at this pregnancy business since we've been here before. That's not the case with Claire, though. To her, all of this is simply fascinating. The magic of this pregnancy is her unconditional love and pride in her little sister as we watch my belly grow bigger and bigger each week. She's become my little belly buddy. Nearly every night, she asks if she can rub lotion on my back or feet - a total blessing! She also is quick to ask if I need anything. Water? A snack? A pillow?
She also loves to ask randomly throughout the day "Is the baby kicking, Mom?" and if the answer is yes, she drops whatever she's doing to run over and put her hands on the belly to feel. Claire's been to nearly every medical appointment and she's well-versed in the mechanics of my womb thanks to books we read about babies. ("You know that blue cord, Mom? That feeds the baby. And it'll be her belly button.")
Most of all, though, it warms my heart to witness the love rooted deep in Claire's heart for the baby. Whether it's her singing to my belly button or offering me two grapes ("One for you, one for the baby.") or overhearing Claire talk about the baby to her friends or teachers, it's clear Claire will be a very loving and protective big sister.
