I understand where you are coming from. Last night at about 11:30 I got all the dogs off our bed to do my nightly ritual of wiping all the dog hair and straightening the sheets out. (They have to be just right or I can't sleep.) I did all this just to find a spot on the sheets. So much to my BF's dismay I stripped the bed and remade it, even though I would have loved to just pass out. I do understand what you mean about taking your family into consideration. I have worked really hard to create a balance between going too far. Occasionally I'll fly off the edge though, tear the whole house apart and clean it top to bottom :/ oops.. LOL. I'm counting the days 'til I see a darling little girl in those outfits!
OH I know what you mean, but my family has calmed me down a bit. I used to have the kids keep their closets organized but it was too much stress on us. My oldest keeps his half nice but my other 2 don't care much. My dd is a pack rat like daddy and she likes to rat hole things too. Drives me crazy so I must ignore it. I figure, if the closet is closed, no one will see it! They must keep their floors of their rooms clean though, especially at night as you just don't know where there will be an emergency! (Fireman's daughter I am...)
I have a matching hanger for you!! It absolutely drives me nuts when I work so hard to get the house clean & my dh and kids come in and destroy it in 5 minutes (or less!! lol) My step mother used to alphatize everything in the cabinets & refridgerator!!
*reaches out and puts an empty, dark blue hanger off to the right and then hides from Mosey's wrath* I like things in neat order, but I still have pools of chaos I ignore. Like that table covered in junk mail, read books, and last month's CDs. I clean orderly house is a great place to grow up, though. :)
I understand that, My MIL is still waiting for the day I admit I have a "junk drawer" in the kitchen. I don't and never will. A place for everything and everything in its place. Walking into a neat closet is a joy, walking into a messy one is depressing and exhausting.
I am completely PSYCHO about closets... and have had to work really really really really hard to not injure my family over messy closets. LOL - I understand completely! :)
I have never understood perfectionist, My ex was somewhat a perfectionist. but we had a hard time co-exhisting in the same house. I guess I drove him up the wall as he did me maybe that is part of why he is an EX lol but now I wish I hadda picked up on a few of those tendancies from him. can't wait to see the little one in these cute clothes
Great take. I am glad you don't let it ruin your boys ability to be boys. The world will not stop spining if there is a sock on the floor or a hanger that does not match the rest. Look forward to seeing Evelyn wearing those cute little outfits! :)
great take on the challenge ...and I'm loving all that pink..Glad you are keeping tiyrsekf ub check but it is really nice to see all that order in a house with 4 no 5 males.......great balancing
We all have our little quirks that's what makes us, us! I would gladly take a little of your perfectionist tendencies from you. Not sure what happened to mine, they ran off some time ago! =}
please don't come to my house--you would cringe--I began housekeeping many, many years ago when, like you, everything had to be perfect---somewhere along the way, I've changed--now, I'm a clutterer
I grew up with two perfectionists. :) My Mom and my sister. I can understand living in that "fear". Mom, like you, learnt to deal with it and not let it bother her - my sister however..... :) Was lots of fun teasing her (sitting on her bed after she made it, rearranging her carefully color-coded socks....)
I am not a perfectionist but Natasha's clothes had to all be on the same kind of hanger. I would imagine with four boys you could really wear yourself out trying to make things perfect.
well... this says a lot about me... My personal style is feminine, detailed and well... perfectionist.. Imperfection drives me completely crazy, this picture.... driving me NUTS, because one hanger does not match the rest, and the space between the 3rd and 4th hangers on the left is not the same as the rest oh yes, and the color coordination in the long sleeved shirts got mixed up... yep, told ya, perfectionist... NOW... I work with all my might to not allow that to make my family uncomfortable.. I have learned with much training to look aside and not fall to bits over messes and uneven hangers! Most people would probably walk into my home and never know just how much it drives me crazy when a picture is crooked or there is a shoe on my floor because I work to keep that at bay so that my family can live in comfort not in fear of dropping a sock in the wrong spot in the wrong way!! hehe...
