Techniques:
Distressing:
Um, sanding, lots and lots of sanding. I wanted the layout to look old and care worn – like my old dog ;) I abused the heck out of these Rusty Pickle papers and they just got better and better.

Fringe:
Cutting, lots and lots of cutting of thin strips of patterned paper, taping it down, cutting, placing, cutting, placing, rinse repeat until you have what you are looking for ;) I think I used every single Rusty Pickle paper I own in this fringe. In addition to the above listed papers, I also used scraps from the following RP papers in the fringe: Pat’s Cosmos, Orange Crush, Beach House Pink, Family Stripes, and Blue Crackle Dots

Chipboard Stars and Explosions:
I printed “The Emancipation of Miss Kitty” and “The 4th of July, 2005” on the stars from the Rusty Pickle Stars and Stripes paper, cut them out, taped to chipboard, cut out, and sanded. I designed and printed explosions, taped to chipboard, cut out and sanded.

Hidden Journaling background:
Scanned the Rusty Pickle Fire Cracker Labels paper and watermarked it to use as the background of the hidden journaling.

Thanks for looking!
