Journaling:
My Buddy Bear was given to me when I was Born in May of 1952. He has always been my friend, pal, and comfort my whole life.
My Mom said I named him Buddy because my Dad always called me Buddy Pal.
No matter what happened Buddy was always there. His then soft golden fur soaked up my salty tears when I was upset or sad. He always listened to me even if I rambled on about nothing for hours. He would sit and tirelessly under the cherry tree while I climbed the branches. He even survived a terrible rain storm when I carelessly left him sitting under the cherry tree. I cried so hard feeling guilty and was so afraid he was ruined. Mom just picked him up washed him out and hung him by his ears on the clothesline to dry. She then brushed his fur out and he was as good as new. He has traveled across the country with me, was there when I married, had my babies, lost my oldest child in an accident and when I was divorced. He still sits in my scrapbook room next to my desk where he is part of my life today.
He is no longer a beautiful furry bear. His fur is old and matted, his stuffing no longer soft but lumpy and thread bare. He has no eyes, and is missing an ear. His seams are coming apart in several places.
I now have a beautiful boyds bear collection, but not one of these beautifully dressed bears could ever compare to my Buddy bear, in my eyes he is the most BEAUTIFUL BEAR IN THE WORLD.
