My favorite banner to date which we used to celebrate our first annual "Cupcake Day" at Scrapbook.com. I wanted each letter tile to look good enough to eat so I used lots of pearls, gems, glitter, ribbon, doilies, and the stickers, brads and chipboard in the BasicGrey "Two Scoops collection. White pen work and doodling add the look and feel of decorative icing. I loved working with this whole paper collection and the Tinkering Ink Chipboard Banner Pieces. While it took some time to design and make this project it was well worth the effort since it will be used over and over at home and work.
Each step of paper layering was expedited because I use UHU glue stick and my brayer to firmly attach all papers to the banner pieces. I used a Fiskars Fingertip Control Craft Knife (love it) to trim the paper around scalloped banner edges (worked from the back side on a cutting mat). I smoothed all scalloped edges with files from the BG Precision Files Set. Using BasicGrey Undressed Chipboard Letters as my basic pattern I made larger and wider chipboard letters (they fit better within each banner piece). The cupcakes on each end pf the banner are my own design.
I plan to decorate the backside of the banner to say "CELEBRATE!" Thanks for looking.
