The Pretend Honeymoon
Steve had signed up to climb Mount Elbrus in Russia for the second time. It was OK with Barbara that he was going; as it was something he wanted to do. He was leaving around July 18th for Elbrus. As you can see throughout this book he was training for the climb. Everywhere he went he had his backpack on and his hiking boots….except for the wedding. They decided to postpone the REAL honeymoon until October as they had so much going on, i.e. packing, moving, wedding, work, and getting all three kids off to college. So I call this Steve’s pretend honeymoon to Elbrus.
(The group did not get to summit, as the weather was too bad with whiteouts, high winds, freezing temperatures, etc. The climbers were all close to the summit when they had to turn around because of bad weather).
I am going to do the other side with the same paper and it will be called "the Real Honeymoon". They are going to Ireland and they are not going until Oct 4th. After the honeymoon I am sure Barbara will send pictures. If for some reason she doesn't I will figure a way to get some pictures from her. I can't tell her why I want them as it is a surprise. The page will be done like the one of the Iowa group in the same album.
