I don't know any little girls who are named after their father. I think that is really special. It wasn't a decision we came to easily. First of all, your Dad thought he was incapable of having a female child. Once an ultrasound confirmed what I already suspected, it was time to think of the perfect name for our little princess. We agreed after I named your brother that Daddy could name you. I wanted to name you Phoebe since both your brothers names start with "PH". Your father didn't like that idea so it was back to the drawing board. We went through 2 name books before Daddy landed on the name Yakira. I used my power of veto this time and suggested we name you Shannon. At first, Daddy didn't like the idea. But the more he thought about it, the more it grew on him. Now he's proud to have his only girl share his name!
