OKAY THAT SONG MADE ME CRY!! MY SON CHOSE (WITHOUT TELLING ME BEFORE HAND) THE FIRST SONG I TAUGHT HIM AND AT AGE 2 WE WOULD SING IT WHILE HE STOOD ON THE OLD COFFEE TABLE AND WE DANCED ALL AROUND THAT COFFEE TABLE. THE SONG WAS "YOU CAN CLOSE YOUR EYES" BY JAMES TAYLOR. WE NOT ONLY DANCED TO IT, HE SANG (I DID THE BACKUP) AND ALL I COULD DO WAS LOOK UP AT HIM AND SMILE WITH TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE. A MEMORY I'LL NEVER FORGET. THIS LO WILL BE IN HIS BOOK FOR SURE!!! I WILL BE SCRAPLIFTING IT WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF THANKS TO YOU!!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL!!

Beautiful layout!.. Really like the way you included the lyrics.. Love the key and heart charms.. Been there done that as they say.. It was hard for me to hold back the tears when I danced with my son on his wedding day.. Very beautiful layout!..
This is a photo of me and my son dancing at his wedding. It was a very tender moment for the two of us and here is the reason why. The journaling is tucked behind the photo and says.....Just a few weeks before the wedding you asked me if I'd like to hear the song you had chosen to play for our Mother/Son dance at the reception. At first, I said no, but then I decided I did want to hear it. I was so glad that I listened to this song BEFORE the reception. I would have cried all the way through the dance! Thank you so much for this song...you really touched my heart and I'm glad that I could be "The First Lady in Your Life". I Love you, Son.
If you like to know the lyrics..they are:
From sleepless nights and rocking chairs Your smiling face was always there From little trucks and building blocks You held my hand while I learned to walk You were my best friend, my inspiration The one I looked up to.. Hey Mom...The First Lady In My Life Was You
There were bedtime snacks and nursery rhymes For goodnight prayers, there was always time You taught me to live by the golden rule Made sure I got to Sunday School You disciplined with Love my whole life through A gentle touch was all I ever knew.. Hey Mom...The First Lady In My Life Was You
Then later on, came sports and games You'd sit in the stands and call my name And win or lose, you'd smile and say 'Son I'm proud of you, everything's OK' You were the one, I'd always turn to When times were sad and blue.. Hey Mom...The First Lady In My Life Was You
There's so many things to say thank you for Birthdays, camping and so much more The little things that mean so much Like laundry done with a loving touch And who could forget, three meals a day Carpools, scouts and PTA's.. Hey Mom...The First Lady In My Life Was You
So here we are today, now I'm finally grown About to take a wife, and start a family of my own Everything I am, I owe to you You molded me so carefully and you saw me through It's hard to tell you how I feel, without a lot of mush But I must tell you true.. Hey Mom, I'm so Glad... The First Lady in My Life Was You
And... if you'd like to listen to the song.....here's the web link
