The Adventure Begins This is what the heading at the top of this photo reads and nothing could be truer! My husband, daughter and I were in the Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida 2 years ago. Since then, we’ve moved from being lifelong New Yorkers to building our dream home outside of Richmond, Virginia. Then I fell and broke my ankle. I was home recovering and had to be brought back to the hospital in an ambulance a few days later. They discovered my lungs had filled with near fatal pulmonary embolisms. Once I was on coumadin and heparin, they did another CAT scan of my abdomen. Unfortunately they found a tumor which they believed to be a rare form of cancer known as liposarcoma. They did the surgery and removed it and after a few complications and 5 months of home nursing and physical therapy, I am now cancer free and almost normal. We thought we were happy then. But now I know what it’s like to be truly happy and grateful. Grateful for every moment I can spend with my family. Grateful for every beautiful day as I now can enjoy and watch the leaves change. Grateful to go trick or treating underneath crisp, clear stars. I am so blessed!
Entry # 3 Maureen Frances Van Dusky
The journaling is printed on a transparency. I made the tag and handwrote Orlando, Florida summer 2003; the "ribbon for the tag and the "ribbon" on together are strips of paper back to back to make double sided and inked and curled. I also ripped, inked the matting and made the tag and the pocket holder.
Products used: Rusty Pickle; Distressed Dots, Polka Dots, patterned paper; Toscana frames and words; Chipboard letters Making Memories photo turns
