This is for the K&Co Challenge. All papers are K&Co Margo collection. This is a photo of me taken in about 1956 the day after I won a beauty pageant at our school I used some swirl stamps, Prima blooms and bling, pearl centers for the flowers. For the background, I tore several large "holes", inked the edges heavily and back the holes with another piece of the K&Co paper. I distressed the edges of the layout with scissors. Swirl stamps are MSE (my sentiments exactly). THe flower across the bottom of the photo is a QK 12" die that I trimmed down. Butterflies are pop dotted for a 3-D effect and are a Martha Stewart punch. Title letters are BG. Journaling is tucked behind the large mat with the bling pull and reads:

In 1956, when I was five years old, my mama entered me in a beauty pageant at my school. Mama made my dress. It was a light green with layers of netting on the skirt. I had a corsage pinned to the left shoulder. I remember being so scared to walk across the stage. My escort for the evening was a boy named Ronnie Archer. He was also the first boy I kissed and I was only in the first grade! I remember when we walked out on to the stage; we had to stand there for a moment while the judges scored us. When it was time to walk off the stage, I tried to go one direction and he was trying to go the other direction. We proceeded to have a little tug-of-war …and of course, I won. We went the direction I wanted to go! I won the title of Little Miss Waresboro that night. I was crowned with a homemade crown. I think it was cardboard covered with white satin, sequins and pearls, but to me it was the most beautiful crown ever! I felt like a princess that night, and as I look back on those days now…it's almost like a dream.

Thanks so much for stopping by! :D
