Journaling:
This park is another of Gaudi’s Masterpieces. He originally intended for it to be a huge residential neighborhood that would be built up into the hillside but it turned out to be a failed real estate adventure. The city bought the partially finished area and called it Guell Park. The park was stunning. It had beautiful mosaic tile work, stone bridges and aqueducts, twisting roads, lush landscaping, serpentine statues, gingerbread houses, and a really grand entranceway made out of white mosaic tiles and a large lizard colored mosaic tile fountain. We walked along the stone walkway that was supported by twisting rock pillars that seemed to grow out of the ground like trees and from a distance they did look like trees! It was a fun Tuesday afternoon!
